My work toward watercolor skill continues, albeit much more slowly due to weekend travel during this first month of spring. Here are a few exercises:

Two quick paint exercises:

Exercise with masking fluid:

Attempting moving water:

Hoping April will hold more opportunities to work on this.

January – February Watercolors

Here’s my second set of watercolors, which is nothing more than evidence that I’ve been plugging away at this new art for 6 weeks now!

Week 4a - Provo Canyon Roadside
Week 4b - Washington Sunset
Week 5a - Stonehenge
Week 5a - Old edibles
Week 6a - Utah Lake, January 2012
Week 6b - Second Snow

Some failures, and some successes, but I am beginning to see how long of a road this will be, and I’m alright traveling it.

January Watercolors

I began watercolor painting this month. It’s a testament to my procrastination, really, since Jame had bought me the paint tubes and brushes nearly 10 years ago. I found it all, unused, in a closet last month as I was compelled to transform the study into a new bedroom for the forthcoming child. I couldn’t bear to throw them out.

I’m trying to do at least three exercises a week. A few may be worth posting, though nearly every one has been completed by abandonment, and resulted in a lengthy list of things I should do differently next time.
